Machine Operator

This role operates cable fabrication equipment to produce specialty transformer lead cable and conductor wire while supporting quality, shipping, and material handling operations in a team-focused manufacturing environment. You work on a first-shift schedule and play a key role in safely and efficiently producing high-quality products that meet customer specifications.

• Operate cable fabrication and production machinery with training and guidance provided.
• Set up and run equipment to process copper wire and transformer lead cable according to customer specifications and production standards.
• Perform regular quality inspections on in-process and finished products and accurately record production and quality data.
• Use hand tools and measuring tools, such as micrometers, to verify dimensions and ensure products meet quality requirements.
• Package finished products onto wooden reels and prepare them for shipment.
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including loading, unloading, and staging materials.
• Move and handle raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods throughout the facility using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and material handling tools.
• Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Support general production and assembly tasks as needed to meet production goals.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to address production issues, improve processes, and maintain a strong focus on quality and efficiency.

• Previous machine operation experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Manufacturing or general production experience, including assembly, packaging, and inspection tasks.
• Forklift experience and familiarity with material handling equipment.
• Ability to read and use micrometers and other precision measuring tools.
• Experience performing quality checks and documenting inspection results.
• Experience with hand tools and general production equipment.
• Interest in learning specialized manufacturing skills related to transformer lead cable fabrication.

This role is based in a manufacturing facility that produces specialty products for the electrical transformer industry, specifically custom-fabricated transformer lead cables. You work in a non-climate controlled industrial setting, so temperatures can vary with the seasons. The environment includes production machinery, material handling equipment such as forklifts, and areas for shipping, receiving, and packaging. You use hand tools and measuring instruments, including micrometers, to perform your work. Personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toe footwear, safety glasses, and gloves, to ensure a safe workplace. The position follows a first-shift schedule, Monday through Thursday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, supporting a predictable routine and work-life balance.

This is a Permanent position based out of Niagara Falls, NY.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
