Job Description and Duties Fraud Hotline Analyst plays a key role in protecting the integrity of EDD’s programs by investigating allegations of fraud and misconduct. Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager I of the Criminal Intelligence Section (CIS), the analyst screens and analyzes allegations received through the Fraud Hotline via phone, fax, mail, the internet, and other channels. Responsibilities include determining the viability of each allegation, deciding probable fraudulent activity, routing cases to the appropriate unit, completing required processes, conducting follow‑up activities, correlating information, accessing automated informational systems, performing preliminary analyses of sensitive data, gathering and collecting data, maintaining monthly statistical records for reporting, providing technical assistance and analytical support, and translating Spanish language documents and phone calls as required. Prior call center or EDD program experience is desirable but not required. Strong time‑management, organizational, and analytical skills are essential. Special Requirements Fluency in Spanish is a requirement. If a record of fluency is not on file, a language fluency test must be passed before hiring. A background investigation and fingerprinting must be cleared prior to hiring. Desirable Qualifications Background in customer service and/or previous call center experience. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including problem‑solving, deductive reasoning, and the ability to provide statistical data as needed. Ability to perform effectively and maintain confidentiality in a fast‑paced environment. Capacity to meet deadlines while remaining flexible and adapting to frequent workload changes.
