This intermediate-level clerical position will allow you to apply your professional service-orientation, good judgment and independent thinking in your daily work functions.**Responsibilities*** You will assure complete and accurate patient admissions/registrations according to organization policy and procedures and regulatory requirements* You will obtain inpatient bed assignments and processes inpatient admission, including arm banding, addressograph plate, and completion of necessary forms* You will pre-admit all scheduled inpatient, outpatients and ambulatory patients to facilitate a smooth and speedy admission/registration process* You will obtain direct admit information and enter a reservation in the computer system in order to notify other areas* You will complete comprehensive bedside or telephone interviews with the patient, relative, or their representative to obtain pertinent demographic insurance and/or third-party liability information* You will perform eligibility verification and resolves any discrepancies, determine the need for financial assistance recommendation and application, referring to the Financial Counselor where necessary**Requirements*** Graduate of a health vocational program such as Patient Access, Medical Assistance Medical Billing & Insurance or an Associate Degree with six months of experience* One year of experience performing admitting, Health Unit Coordinator, patient registration or billing duties in a health care setting required* Customer service experience required**Our Values**As a MultiCare employee, we'll rely on you to reflect our core values of Respect, Integrity, Stewardship, Excellence, Collaboration and Kindness. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $20.07 - $28.87 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
