Assistant Professor Clinical Practice - Otolaryngology ,

Overview The candidate will participate in all teaching activities of the Department, including conferences and lectures, with teaching and funds; house staff supervision in the operating room, clinics, and inpatient services; continuing medical education; and local, regional, and national meetings. Students include medical students, house staff, and allied health students. He/she is also responsible for advancing clinical knowledge through his/her scholarly and research efforts and will participate in either basic research (laboratory) or clinical research and publication of scientific articles. In addition, the person in this position will have administrative responsibilities, including supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and serving on committees at the department and Health System levels. This provider will be deployed at Brittany Bay Clinic for 2 1/2-3 days and will provide surgical services at the League City Campus. Responsibilities Participate in teaching activities of the Department, including conferences and lectures, with teaching and funds. Supervise house staff in the operating room, clinics, and inpatient services. Engage in continuing medical education and participate in local, regional, and national meetings. Educate and supervise students, including medical students, house staff, and allied health students. Advance clinical knowledge through scholarly and research efforts; participate in basic research (laboratory) or clinical research and publication of scientific articles. Assume administrative responsibilities, including supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and serving on department and Health System committees. Provide surgical services at League City Campus after deployment at Brittany Bay Clinic for 2 1/2-3 days. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited medical school. Completed an ACGME-approved residency training program in otolaryngology, with training and interest in laryngology. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Otolaryngology. Eligible for or possess Texas Medical License without restrictions. Salary Commensurate with experience.
