The Global Legal, Intellectual Property, and Security (GLIPS) department at Global Business Services (GBS) in Bangalore is a cornerstone of support for Novo Nordisk's global legal and intellectual property functions. With a focus on efficiency and high-quality delivery, GLIPS GBS operates across three key sub-teams, ensuring operational excellence, risk mitigation, and compliance across global operations. The department fosters a collaborative and dynamic atmosphere, where diverse expertise drives success in the legal and intellectual property domains.The PositionAs an Associate Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in supporting Novo Nordisk's contracting activities across multiple lines of business. Working at the intersection of legal expertise and commercial pragmatism, you will ensure our agreements are robust, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.Contract Drafting, Review & Negotiation Review contracts prepared on the basis of Novo Nordisk standard templates as well as contracts received from counterparties, ensuring compliance with appropriate laws and internal policiesPrepare and draft contracts in collaboration with Global Legal lawyers when no standard template is availableProvide end-to-end support for contract review, negotiation, and coordination with relevant stakeholders until signatureRespond to complex contractual queries with clear, commercially sound guidanceRisk Identification & Compliance Identify risks and issues within contractual terms and conditions, suggesting alternatives that lead to the best possible outcome for the businessAnalyse contract requirements and content to ensure alignment with applicable laws, Novo Nordisk policies, and compliance standardsProcess Improvement & Stakeholder Collaboration Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across Procurement, business units, and Global Legal to ensure alignment on risk standards and contracting approachesSupport the development of templates, playbooks, and guidance materials that drive consistency and efficiency across contracting workflowsActively share ideas and contribute to continuous improvement of legal processes and work qualityQualificationsWe're looking for an Associate Legal Counsel who thrives in a dynamic, global environment and brings a solid foundation in contract law combined with a proactive mindset. You'll bring with you:A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Law3+ years of experience supporting the legal department of a global corporation in drafting, reviewing, and redlining contractsStrong understanding of contractual terms and conditions, including risk mitigation and negotiation strategiesUnderstanding and experience of end-to-end Contract Lifecycle ManagementPersonal drive and ability to innovate and improve processes and work productExposure to a contract management tool is preferredEvery day we seek the solutions that defeat serious chronic diseases.
