Location: Rock City, IllinoisPay: Starting around $35 per hour, based on experienceJob Type: Full-time, Direct Hire, Non-ExemptAvailable Shifts:2nd Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM3rd Shift: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AMJOB SUMMARYWe are hiring experienced Industrial Maintenance Technicians for a food ingredient manufacturing facility in Rock City, Illinois.This position is ideal for a mechanically strong, self-motivated technician who can troubleshoot equipment independently. The facility relies heavily on pumps, motors, valves, piping systems, and process equipment rather than traditional conveyor or packaging equipment.The Industrial Maintenance Technician will perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance to improve equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support safe and efficient production operations.RESPONSIBILITIESTroubleshoot and repair industrial production equipment and facility systemsDiagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment problemsMaintain and repair pumps, motors, valves, piping, and process equipmentRespond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtimePerform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenanceInspect motors, bearings, couplings, seals, and other rotating equipmentUse electrical meters and diagnostic tools to identify equipment failuresRead electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and blueprintsComplete work orders and accurately document maintenance activities in the CMMSAssist with equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and improvement projectsParticipate in root cause analysis for recurring equipment failuresMaintain tools, parts, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized conditionFollow OSHA, food safety, sanitation, and plant safety proceduresWork closely with Production, Quality, and other maintenance team membersQUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED requiredAt least two years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience preferredStrong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skillsExperience maintaining industrial pumps and electric motorsBasic knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, and control panelsAbility to troubleshoot equipment independently and determine the cause of failuresWorking knowledge of preventive maintenance practicesAbility to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manualsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamComfortable working in a food manufacturing or regulated production environmentAbility to perform physically demanding work and lift equipment as requiredWillingness to work either 2nd or 3rd shiftPREFERRED EXPERIENCEElectrical troubleshootingThree-phase motors and motor controlsVariable frequency drives, or VFDsProgrammable logic controllers, or PLCsPneumatic and hydraulic systemsPumps, valves, seals, bearings, and rotating equipmentComputerized Maintenance Management Systems, or CMMSFood, beverage, dairy, ingredient, chemical, or process manufacturingTechnical certificate or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, mechatronics, or a related fieldIDEAL CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and able to troubleshoot equipment without constant supervision.
