Resident Project Representative (RPR)

Location: Abilene, TX
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Potential for Extension/Conversion)

75/hr-85/hr

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• • OR Texas Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician certification
• Strong MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) construction experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and contract documents

Preferred Qualifications

• Data Center construction experience
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
• Professional Engineer (PE) license

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Resident Project Representative (RPR) to support large-scale construction projects as an Owner's Representative. This individual will serve as a key liaison between project stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams, ensuring construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong construction background, extensive MEP experience, and the ability to identify and resolve issues in the field while supporting successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Construction Engineers with all phases of project execution
• Serve as the Owner's Representative on one or multiple active construction projects
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, schedules, and contract requirements
• Identify and help resolve design and construction issues in the field
• Participate in meetings with contractors, engineering teams, and project stakeholders
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and project teams
• Support project execution by coordinating communication among all parties
• Oversee Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) processes throughout construction
• Track project progress and provide updates on key milestones, risks, and issues
• Prepare detailed daily construction reports
• Review contractor submittals and ensure contract specifications are met
• Review RFIs and provide recommendations to the Engineer of Record (EOR)
• Maintain logs and documentation for RFIs, submittals, and other project correspondence
• Coordinate responses to contractor requests for information
• Communicate regularly with project managers, field staff, engineers, and stakeholders
• Perform additional construction management and engineering duties as needed
