Position Description
- Lead safety initiatives and drive continuous improvement programs.Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and ergonomic evaluations.Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Facilitate safety committees and employee engagement activities.
- Monitor safety performance metrics and prepare reports for leadership.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Virginia environmental and occupational safety regulations.
- Manage hazardous materials, chemical inventory, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) programs.
- Coordinate regulatory inspections and audits.
- Support air, water, waste, and stormwater compliance programs.
- Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste management processes.
- Implement sustainability and environmental stewardship initiatives.
- Monitor environmental performance indicators and recommend improvements.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and contractors.
- Conduct new hire safety orientation.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching and employee involvement.
- Ensure contractor safety requirements are met.
- Partner with engineering and facilities teams on equipment installations and process changes.
- Support lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, machine guarding, and electrical safety programs.
- Participate in capital projects to ensure EHS requirements are incorporated into design and commissioning activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field.
- 1 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, automotive, HVAC, or related environments.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS management systems.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and risk assessments.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
