Shipping & Receiving Associate III - Flexible Shift Location: CA-San Diego, US Contract Type: Regular Full-Time Area: LOGISTICS Shipping and Receiving Associate III will report to the Supervisor, Distribution and will coordinate complex blood‑typing solutions shipments, including the management of shipments from GDS San Diego to multiple destinations. The role also performs a variety of tasks in a warehouse environment involving handling and storing materials, parts, supplies and equipment. To be successful, we seek individuals with at least 2–4 years of shipping and receiving experience, preferably involving carriers for international shipments (Latin America, Brazil, etc.). SAP knowledge and experience is preferred. The shift for the Shipping and Receiving Associate III will primarily be the 1st shift (start time varies between 5–6:30 am). We require candidates with flexible shift schedules. Primary Responsibilities Manage temperature‑controlled, inventoried material in multiple warehouse locations Perform ERP transactions in SAP Process transfer orders and goods receipts Operate manual and motorized warehouse equipment Re‑prioritize tasks based on unexpected changes in schedule and business needs Maintain training requirements Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness Maintain inventory accuracy Notify management if materials experience temperatures out of specification Coordinate transfer and reconciliation of materials between facilities and complete required documentation Interact inter‑ and intradepartmentally Plan, coordinate material and/or equipment transfers between warehouse locations as required Lead shipping/receiving activities Operate company vehicle to deliver/retrieve raw materials, semi‑finished goods or finished goods and ensure temperature remains within specification Proficient in ERP systems (familiar with controls, functionalities and material management) Identify when issues arise, present possible solutions and seek approval Train new colleagues and ensure processes are followed Participate in special projects and/or activities Coordinate, support and delegate daily workload Generate progress reports to supervisor/manager Interact with external customers such as business suppliers Engage regularly with Supply Chain Serve as SME during internal and external audits Lead other team members Mentor new team members and provide feedback Monitor, order and manage non‑inventory supply requirements for warehouse and/or distribution Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to follow oral and written instructions; computer knowledge and use of email and system applications; organizational skills; attention to detail; strong math skills; knowledge of PPE; adaptability to changing environments; effective communication; good customer service interaction; ability to meet aggressive deadlines in a fast‑paced environment; knowledge of hazardous or dangerous goods handling; understanding of regulatory requirements for shipping activities; ability to prioritize daily workloads; independent thinking and solution orientation. Education Typically requires a high school diploma or AA with related experience. Experience 2–4 years in a related, fast‑paced, high‑throughput environment with a high school diploma, or 2–3 years in related experience with AA. Requires at least 2 years of GMP experience in a regulated environment. Equivalency Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Occupational Demands May occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise manipulate objects up to 55 pounds, and/or frequently or continuously handle objects up to 25 pounds. Additional requirements may include assisting another employee in lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise manipulating objects of 100 pounds or greater. May work in 2–8°C or –20°C walk‑in units for extended periods of time, often surrounded by motorized warehouse equipment, and may handle dry ice to maintain proper storage temperature for frozen materials. Pay Scale and Benefits Estimated pay: $24–$29 per hour with eligibility for up to 5 % of the company bonus pool. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO, up to 5 % 401(K) match and tuition reimbursement.
