Job Details Under general supervision, the Cook’s primary objective is the preparation of food items to ensure a high standard of quality and quantity that meets the needs of residents for Residential Living, Assisted Living, Memory Support, and Health Center Dining rooms. The Cook handles food in accordance with sanitary standards and recognized food preparation standards. Schedules Available Full Time, Thursday – Saturday from 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM and Sunday – Monday from 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM. Pay Range $20–23 per hour, base pay, depending on years of experience. Work Duties Prepares food, including washing, trimming, cutting, portioning, measuring, mixing, and panning. Cooks food using baking, broiling, frying, steaming, braising, boiling, and pressure cooking techniques. Operates and cleans all food preparation equipment, including grills, broilers, ovens, steamer tables, mixers, microwave ovens, and toasters. Complies with all food preparation standards and health and safety requirements. Maintains sanitary standards for handling, transportation, and storage of food. To Be Successful In The Role, You Would Have Skilled nursing or retirement community cooking experience (Required). Experience with dietary restrictions and modified diets (Required). Scratch cooking experience (Preferred). Fine dining and/or country club cooking experience (Preferred). Culinary education (Preferred).
