Shop Technician

Shop TechnicianThe Shop Service Tech is responsible for servicing equipment at the shop. They will also provide preventative maintenance on machines. Additionally, they assist in cultivating customer relationships. The Shop Service Tech should be able to diagnose and troubleshoot problems of the rock crushing equipment and other machinery. They are also vital to maintaining an orderly and safe work environment in the shop. They should adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.Essential functions:Diagnose and repair mobile rock crushing equipment and conveyorsPerform preventive maintenance on equipment, changing outerwear parts in crushers, checking/replacing bearings on conveyors, recording of damage or misuse of equipmentKeep work area clean orderly; Maintain safe and responsible work habits in an outdoor shop environmentChange/Repair conveyor belts and fix/weld up old steel hoppersCompetencies:Understand basic electrical and hydraulic schematicsKnowledge of the proper use for tools like electrical meters, hydraulic gauges, and lifting equipmentAble to communicate well with customers and technical support from the factoryAble to measure accurately with calipers, feeler gauges, and tape measuresHas knowledge of safety procedures for working with heavy equipment/objectsBasic welding/fabrication experiencePhysical demands:Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs and working 40 hour weeks.Required education and experience:High school diploma or GED equivalentWork authorization/security clearance requirements:[List any visa requirements, H1-B sponsorship, special clearances, etc. If applicable, insert information regarding government contracts or special requirements.]Affirmative Action/EEO statement:Goodfellow is an equal opportunity employer.
