OR Registered Nurse

Job Overview This OR RN position is located in Kansas City, MO at a 585+ bed hospital designated as a Level I Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center, with additional specialty programs including a Chest Pain Center, Breast Care Center, and Cardiovascular Rehabilitation. Role The OR RN functions as an integral member of an interdisciplinary surgical team that includes surgeons, surgical technologists, and other providers. Prior to each procedure, you will evaluate patients, provide education to patients and families about the perioperative process, and manage preparation responsibilities including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification. During surgical cases you will participate in briefings, time‑outs, debriefings, and universal protocol verification per policy, apply critical thinking and technical skills to deliver safe nursing care, and recognize and respond to patient emergencies in real time. Staff scheduling is posted four weeks in advance, and unit leaders conduct regular rounding to ensure surgical staff have a voice in patient care and workflow improvement. On‑call coverage during select non‑business hours is required. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license, diploma or degree required 1+ years of recent OR RN experience (scrub and/or circulating) Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Schedule Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) and Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). #J-18808-Ljbffr HiredFirst
