AI Engineer

A financial services firm in Virginia is seeking a new AI Engineer to join their team, focusing on developing, deploying, and optimizing machine learning and generative AI solutions in an enterprise financial services environment.
About the Opportunity:- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Hours: Standard business
- Setting: Hybrid (3 days onsite)
- Develop and enhance machine learning models across the full lifecycle, including design, training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends, insights, and business opportunities.
- Review AI system architectures and data flows to identify security, safety, and operational risks.
- Conduct AI risk assessments across model development, deployment, data security, and ongoing monitoring processes.
- Partner with data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable AI and machine learning solutions.
- 5+ years of experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or data science engineering
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related quantitative discipline
- Strong experience designing, training, validating, deploying, and monitoring machine learning models
- Experience with cloud computing platforms and infrastructure
- Experience with Computer Vision, image processing, and video analytics
- Experience with Natural Language Processing and Natural Language Understanding
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and/or PyTorch
- Experience with or willingness to learn Agentic AI frameworks and Large Language Models
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Experience performing AI risk assessments and evaluating AI system architectures for security and safety risks
- Experience implementing AI governance, safety, and responsible AI practices
- Experience optimizing machine learning models on GPU architectures using C++ and CUDA
- Knowledge of MLOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines for model deployment and monitoring
- Experience with advanced reinforcement learning techniques
- Experience with speech recognition technologies
- Experience researching, developing, and fine-tuning Large Language Models for domain-specific use cases
- Experience leveraging Microsoft Azure services for AI and machine learning workloads
- Experience working within highly regulated environments such as financial services or banking initiatives
