Applications Development Manager

Piper Companies is seeking an Applications Development Manager to join an award-winning, technology-driven insurance company located in Durham, NC through a hybrid work schedule . The Applications Development Manager will oversee critical applications, ensuring stability and performance, while leading new developments, aligning with business needs, managing releases and updates, making key architectural decisions, recommending improvements, and inspiring development teams. Responsibilities of the Applications Development Manager include: Align business needs with application development to ensure strategic goals are met. Prioritize and manage digital releases, updates, and software implementations. Architect system solutions and execute detailed project plans. Recommend and implement improvements for various application components. Lead and inspire development teams to achieve high performance. Oversee vendor relationships and manage vendor performance. Qualifications for the Applications Development Manager include: 6+ years of experience in IT, focusing on application support and development. Strong background in managing the life cycle of development, testing, and deployment. 5 years of project management experience, demonstrating leadership and organizational skills. 3 years of experience with insurance platforms, particularly in annuities and life insurance. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Bachelors degree in related field, Master's preferred. Must work onsite 3 days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Compensation for the Applications Development Manager include: $140,000 - 160,000 Comprehensive benefit package: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Holiday, PTO, and Sick Leave if required by law.
