Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a university medical center requiring 2+ years of experience and active RRT/CRT and Ohio state licensure.

Details

• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Weekend work required
• Floating between campuses may be required
• Work settings include Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• BLS certification required
• CRT or RRT certification required (not both)
• Active Ohio State License required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
• High school diploma or official transcripts required during compliance process
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Experience with airway management devices including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with medication delivery systems and administration including Albuterol, Atrovent, and other respiratory medications
• Proficient in interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
• Experience with oxygen therapy including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and trach collar

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Candidates must complete OH BCI and FBI fingerprinting as soon as they accept an offer, which includes lifetime background checks
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this facility
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role; charge RN acceptable for second reference, no coworker references accepted
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
