Dynamic Search Consulting (DSC) is a boutique retained executive search firm that specializes in VP and C-level placement nationally across various functions and verticals. This posting is not for a specific search but represents the type of candidate profile we frequently recruit for. Key Responsibilities The following information is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or required skills. Lead the organization’s overall investment strategy, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and execution against its financial objectives and long-term investment mandate. Develop and implement disciplined investment processes that balance risk, return, liquidity, diversification, and long-term value creation. Partner with the CEO, Board, investment committee, and other senior leaders to establish investment priorities, evaluate opportunities, and align the portfolio with the organization’s strategic goals. Oversee the sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, underwriting, selection, and ongoing management of investments across relevant asset classes, sectors, and geographies. Establish rigorous portfolio monitoring, risk management, performance measurement, and reporting practices while ensuring transparency and accountability across the investment function. Build, develop, and lead a high-performing investment team while creating a culture of intellectual curiosity, disciplined decision-making, collaboration, and execution. Evaluate strategic investment opportunities, including direct investments, fund commitments, co-investments, acquisitions, partnerships, new asset classes, and emerging market opportunities. Maintain strong relationships with investment managers, financial institutions, advisors, operating partners, founders, management teams, and other key external stakeholders. Present investment recommendations, portfolio performance, market perspectives, and risk assessments to the CEO, Board, investment committee, and other stakeholders. Serve as a trusted investment partner to the CEO, Board, investment committee, employees, investors, beneficiaries, and key external partners. Ideal Candidate Proven Chief Investment Officer, Deputy CIO, Managing Director, Portfolio Manager, Head of Investments, or senior investment leadership experience within a private equity firm, family office, asset manager, wealth management firm, endowment, foundation, pension fund, or institutional investment organization. Experience developing and executing investment strategies across public markets, private markets, real assets, credit, venture capital, private equity, or other relevant asset classes. Strong investment judgment with a demonstrated track record of sourcing opportunities, conducting rigorous due diligence, constructing portfolios, managing risk, and generating attractive risk‑adjusted returns. Deep understanding of financial markets, macroeconomic trends, capital allocation, valuation, portfolio construction, and investment governance. Fluency across investment and portfolio metrics, including IRR, MOIC, DPI, TVPI, alpha, beta, Sharpe ratio, volatility, liquidity, exposure, concentration, benchmark performance, and risk‑adjusted returns. Experience partnering with CEOs, Boards, investment committees, investors, family principals, trustees, and other senior stakeholders. Strong leadership experience building, developing, and retaining high‑performing investment teams. Exposure to M&A, direct investing, manager selection, co‑investments, fund formation, capital raising, or investment platform expansion is a plus. Experience managing significant assets under management with a proven track record of disciplined capital deployment, portfolio performance, risk management, and long‑term value creation. Advanced degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field is preferred. CFA, CAIA, or other relevant professional credentials are a plus. Leadership Style We’re looking for a Chief Investment Officer who is strategic but hands‑on, analytically rigorous but commercially minded, and highly focused on disciplined execution. This leader should bring sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, transparency, and conviction while remaining adaptable as markets and investment conditions evolve. The ideal candidate will be comfortable challenging assumptions, communicating complex investment decisions clearly, and balancing long‑term strategy with near‑term opportunities and risks. This executive should be a collaborative leader who can build trust with investment teams, senior executives, Boards, investment committees, investors, and external partners. Success in this role will be measured by strong risk‑adjusted investment performance, disciplined capital allocation, effective portfolio construction, improved investment processes, increased transparency, stronger risk management, successful team development, and clear alignment between the investment strategy and the organization’s long‑term objectives. #J-18808-Ljbffr
