Appellate Attorney
Location: Dallas, TX


I am partnering directly with firm leadership at a premier litigation platform with a national-scope practice that handles trials, appeals, and arbitrations across a broad range of complex civil matters. The appellate group works closely with trial teams on high-exposure commercial and insurance disputes, focusing on strategic briefing, error preservation, and effective advocacy in state and federal courts.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced appellate attorney seeking sophisticated work, meaningful responsibility, and long-term growth within a highly respected litigation team.


The compensation structure for this role is market-competitive and commensurate with experience, with generous performance-based bonuses, and the firm offers schedule flexibility.


What We Need

  8+ years of civil appellate experience in Texas state and/or federal courts

  Proven ability to handle appeals from notice of appeal through disposition

  Significant brief-writing experience, including appellate briefs, petitions for review, mandamus proceedings, and dispositive motions
  
  
• p]:pt-0 [&> p]:mb-2 [&> p]:my-0">
  Comfort presenting oral argument
  
  
• p]:pt-0 [&> p]:mb-2 [&> p]:my-0">
  Strong legal research and analytical skills

  Active Texas law license in good standing
  
  
• p]:pt-0 [&> p]:mb-2 [&> p]:my-0">
  Experience with complex civil litigation appeals, particularly commercial and insurance-related disputes, preferred

  Board Certification in Civil Appellate Law is a plus
  
  

What You’ll Do

  Handle civil appeals in Texas state and federal courts

  Draft appellate briefs, petitions for review, mandamus proceedings, and dispositive motions

  Present oral argument in appellate courts

  Advise trial teams on error preservation and appellate strategy

  Collaborate with litigators on complex commercial and insurance-related disputes
