Job Description

Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist role involves assisting in various operative procedures within the surgical department. The position requires robotic surgery experience and the ability to perform diverse surgical tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments and supplies prior to procedures.
Assist surgeons during robotic and traditional surgeries by maintaining a sterile field.
Handle instrumentation and equipment, including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and TORS.
Ensure proper patient positioning and support patient needs throughout procedures.
Follow strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols in all surgical activities.
Document procedures and assist with post-operative preparation and clean-up.

Qualifications:

Hold a valid NY state license and NBSTSA certification.
Possess at least 1 year of surgical technologist experience, including robotic surgery.
Demonstrate proficiency in general OR skills, endoscopic sinus procedures, laparoscopic cases, and specific surgeries listed.
Be familiar with EPIC charting system and surgical modules.
Have BLS certification and background experience at community hospitals.
Be able to work day shifts (4x10 hours) and float as needed, with availability for on-call duties and call back requirements.
