About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Payments Engineering to lead the transformation of its payment solutions. This executive will be at the forefront of the industry's evolution, driving the adoption of real-time payments, embedded finance, and AI-native software development. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a global engineering organization, delivering secure and scalable cloud-native payment platforms, and redefining software engineering practices in the era of AI. This role demands a technology leader with a deep engineering background, significant experience in modern payment systems, and a proven track record of leading large engineering teams. The VP will be a key partner across the business, collaborating with product, technology, and commercial leaders to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer experiences and industry-leading payment capabilities. Candidates for this role at the company should have over 20 years of software engineering experience, with at least 12 years in a leadership capacity, and a strong background in payments and financial technology. The role requires a visionary who can see AI as the future of software engineering and is adept at driving organizational transformation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of payment processes, from authorization to reconciliation, and a strong technical background in modern architectures, microservices, APIs, and cloud technologies. Experience in leading globally distributed teams, excellent communication skills, and a talent for developing future leaders are essential. A background in a leading payments or fintech company, experience with AI-native engineering, and a degree in a related field are preferred qualifications.
