Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist

Our company is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to join our team.

This position requires hands-on QuickBooks Online experience . QuickBooks Desktop experience alone is not sufficient.

If you do not have direct, working experience with QuickBooks Online, please do not apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Receivable (A/R) , including invoicing, customer payments, aging reports, and follow-up on outstanding balances
• Manage Accounts Payable (A/P) , including vendor bills, payments, coding, and account review
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Perform credit card reconciliations
• Review and reconcile expense reports
• Assist with and review payroll records, payroll summaries, and payroll-related accounting entries
• Maintain accurate General Ledger accounts
• Prepare and review financial reports , including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, A/R, and A/P reports
• Assist with budget preparation, budget tracking, and variance review
• Record and reconcile business loans , including properly separating principal and interest
• Review financial transactions for accuracy and proper classification
• Perform journal entries and account adjustments when necessary
• Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation
• Assist with audits, compliance, and financial documentation
• Assist with project accounting and project-related financial tracking
• Track expenses, revenue, payments, and financial activity by project or business unit when required
• Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly
• Maintain accurate and timely financial information within QuickBooks Online

Required Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online — REQUIRED
• Previous bookkeeping, accounting, or finance experience
• Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Experience performing bank and credit card reconciliations
• Familiarity with payroll accounting and payroll reports
• Understanding of General Ledger accounting
• Ability to read and understand basic financial statements
• Experience recording loan payments and separating principal from interest
• Familiarity with budgeting and financial reporting
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and responsibilities
• Ability to work independently and identify discrepancies without constant supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Project management or project accounting experience
• Experience working with multiple companies, departments, projects, or cost centers
• Experience assisting with audits and compliance documentation
• Advanced QuickBooks Online reporting experience

This is not an entry-level QuickBooks position .

Applicants should be comfortable navigating QuickBooks Online independently and performing day-to-day accounting functions without requiring basic QuickBooks training.
