Job Title: Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med Surg/Tele RN - 7N Ortho/Uro/Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours (1430-2300) Experience: 1 year of acute care nursing experience License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Experience in titrating heparin and handling various acute medical diagnoses Description: The position is for a Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse in a telemetry unit. The nurse will care for patients with orthopedic, vascular, urology, and neuro-spine conditions. Common diagnoses include fractures, joint replacements, and bladder irrigation management. The nurse will work alongside telemetry technicians who monitor patient strips. Charge nurses take assignments and there is a house supervisor present during shifts. Nursing assistants provide support throughout the unit during designated hours. The role includes the administration of various titratable drips as needed. Respiratory support equipment is available, though mechanical ventilation is not used. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, along with every other holiday. Floating to other adult medical/surgical nursing units is required as needed. The dress code allows for scrubs of any color, provided that they are clean and professional.
