About the Role Occupational Therapy Assistant / Occupational Therapist (Per Diem) - (251107-50023936) Purpose of Position: To develop, coordinate, and implement the occupational therapy segment of treatment in coordination with program staff, addressing functional activities such as goal‑oriented therapy to facilitate meaningful independent living. Responsibilities Conduct occupational assessments, sensory needs assessments, reassessments, and evaluate patient’s cognitive, functional, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and vocational skills. Assist Occupational Therapist Assistant as needed. Utilize evaluation methods appropriate to the client’s age, education, cultural and ethnic background, medical status, and functional ability. Participate in the development of patient treatment plans, including discharge planning goals, based on assessment information. Guide patient selection of individual tasks or projects that align with their defined needs and goals, encouraging participation. Assist and teach patients in individual and/or group work; modify teaching interventions based on evaluation. Maintain accurate and timely records per policies and procedures. Implement interventions, including crisis management procedures, in collaboration with the treatment team; manage utilization of van and transport patients per policies. Participate in committees, quality assessment and improvement activities, and attend continuing education programs specific to psychiatric care for the population being treated. Comply with all established policies and procedures. Perform other work‑related duties as directed. Qualifications Occupational Therapy Assistant (S14T) Read, write, and communicate in English. Entry‑level degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. Licensed Occupational Therapist Assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Current National Provider Identifier (NPI) registration. Completion of an approved De‑escalation Certification Course within 30 days of start. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of start. Preferred: National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Occupational Therapist (S18T) Read, write, and communicate in English. Entry‑level degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. Licensed Occupational Therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Current National Provider Identifier (NPI) registration.
