Director of Finance

What You Will Do The Director of Finance directs the department's activities and resources to ensure alignment with the department's and organization's mission, values, and objectives. The Director of Finance position is responsible for directing financial operations and ensuring the smooth running of finances through effective oversight of internal controls, reporting, policy implementation, and the improvement of financial processes. The Director of Finance seeks opportunities for ongoing automation and efficiency and interfaces with all levels of the organization and external vendors to ensure efficient, effective service delivery. Additional responsibilities include preparing monthly financial statements, coordinating and directing the annual external audits and general accounting functions of the hospital, maintaining the general ledger, performing monthly and annual accounting period closings, supervising accountants, and creating and fostering an environment that encourages professional growth. Required Education Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited College or University Required Skills Proficient knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Proficient knowledge of internal controls over the general ledger, payroll, and accounts payable Intermediate knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint Highly effective communication skills—strong written communications and platform presentation abilities Preferred Skills Proficient knowledge of Meditech Expanse Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint Required Experience 5+ years of accounting experience 3-5+ years of supervisory experience Preferred Experience Minimum of five years of experience as a hospital or Healthcare System Director of Finance or Director of Finance that includes separate physician practice and foundation entities Benefits We’re proud to offer benefits that support you at every stage of your career and life.
