About the Position

Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shift | Primarily Monday–Friday Days with potential rotation to weekends and nights | On-site

Key Responsibilities

• Rotate throughout Pre-op, PACU (Phase I), and Phase II areas within a 20-bay pre-op and 24-bay PACU/Phase II unit
• Provide direct patient care across a broad range of adult and pediatric surgical cases including general surgery, neuro, orthopedic/trauma, thoracic, OB/GYN, bariatrics, and more
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 in Pre-op, 1:2 in PACU, and 1:3 in Phase II
• Recover ICU-level patients in the PACU when ICU beds are unavailable, based on throughput and capacity
• Interpret cardiac monitor strips and manage RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP
• Participate in call requirements (approximately 20–24 hours per month on weeknights and weekends) and may be required to work one holiday shift and one holiday call shift per season

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Prior PACU experience required
• Experience with RT equipment (ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP)
• Experience recovering ICU-level patients
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Level 1 trauma PACU experience strongly preferred
• Experience with regional acute pain management including blocks, epidurals, and related procedures
• Familiarity with pediatric surgical patient populations
