Maintenance Planner

Maintenance PlannerThe role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. The Maintenance Planner will facilitate Opportunity-based work by having materials kitted and tasks available for short or no-notice shutdowns of individual equipment or rooms.Key Accountabilities/Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for planning maintenance activities supporting Production and associated areasRegular analysis of backlog relative to available resourcesEnsure timely, efficient, and quality service to all internal beneficiaries of MaintenanceHelp Operations balance their need for daily output with their need of equipment reliability through proactive maintenanceFamiliar with CMMS system and how it works within the plantCreate and maintain Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks list for each assetEffectively manage the CMMS work order backlog to create schedulesMaintain materials and equipment in a neat and orderly fashionCreate recommended critical spare parts lists and stocking quantities for Maintenance PartsWork with plant operations team, production schedulers, and maintenance supervisors to schedule all maintenance workLead daily and weekly PM scheduling meetingsCoordinate all outside services such as forklift repair, AC repair, etc.Incorporate safety into all aspects of the positionPerform other duties as assignedQualifications/Capability ProfileMinimum EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredUndergraduate degree desiredOSHA Powered Industrial equipment training and pass associated tests, if requiredMinimum Experience1 year of experience in a food manufacturing facility1 year of experience in purchasing or similar duties1 year of experience in interacting with customers / Customer serviceForklift certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment, if requiredMinimum Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesStrong verbal and written communication skillsInfluential leadership, decision making, and efficient management skillsBusiness-minded, safety and quality-orientedExcellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities effectivelyWorking knowledge of computer software toolsMaintenance background with exposure to a wide variety of maintenance areasCapable of working with vendors and holding them accountableReliable and self-motivatedWillingness to work various hours and days as necessaryAbility to read and interpret equipment and plant prints, and mechanical and electrical drawingsKnowledgeable in warehouse concepts, spare parts inventory, and procurement proceduresUnderstanding of periodic maintenance schedules and procedures to increase equipment lifespanMSI Express is an equal opportunity employer.
