Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Staff Nurse Specialty: Specialty Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of six months to three years of nursing (RN) experience License: Current Client Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: - Collaboration - Communication (verbal and written) - Judgement/Critical Thinking - Organizational Understanding - Planning (Organizing, Time Management) - Problem Solving - Quality - Reliability - Safety and Risk Management Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. This includes the prevention of illness and injury and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. Advocacy in the care of individuals and families is a key responsibility. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. This adheres to the relevant Nurse Practice Act, policies, and professional standards. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Job Responsibilities: Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients. Serves as a primary nurse or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment. Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact. Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to facility policy. Shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization including staffing, time management, supplies, and services. Complies with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. Actively participates in nursing governance models and supports improvement initiatives. Engages in professional development and completes all mandatory education. Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned. Participates in professional development programs as knowledge and expertise grow. Will perform other duties as assigned. Schedule Notes: Works four, ten-hour shifts Monday through Friday. Call hours include two to three shifts per week, spanning from the end of your shift to the start of your next shift. Includes every other weekend commitment. General OR Team shifts are available with varying hours and weekend scheduling. Required Skills and Experience: Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting is preferred. Relevant skills certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or TNCC may be required based on unit assignment.
