Job Description

An established metal fabrication manufacturer is seeking an experienced  Welder/Fitter to join its first-shift production team. In this role, you will perform stick and flux-core welding, operate cutting torches, and work from shop drawings to fabricate metal components to specification. You will inspect completed welds and cuts for quality while safely operating material-handling equipment, including overhead cranes. This position is ideal for a dependable fabricator who values precision, safety, and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

• Perform stick and flux-core welding on metal plate while using cutting torches for accurate cutting and shaping
• Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, measurements, and precision tools to complete fabrication work to specification
• Safely operate overhead cranes and other material-handling equipment to position metal plates and components
• Inspect welded joints and fabricated materials for quality and specification compliance while troubleshooting fabrication issues
• Maintain production and quality records while working collaboratively with welders, fabricators, and supervisors to meet project goals

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Proven metal fabrication experience using stick and flux-core welding techniques
• Experience operating cutting torches and standard metalworking tools
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, measurements, and fabrication specifications
• Experience working with metal plate ranging from approximately 3/16  inch to 1/2 inch thick
• Familiarity with overhead crane operation and safe material-handling practices
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and commitment to quality and workplace safety
• Ability to meet the physical demands of a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods and material handling as required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational training or welding/metal fabrication certification preferred
• Previous manufacturing or industrial experience is a plus

The base pay range for this position is $18.00–$23.00 per hour , excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
