Denver Test Prep (DTP) is hiring experienced and enthusiastic private tutors to join our growing team! We provide individualized academic support, test preparation, and coaching to students throughout the Denver and Boulder areas.

We're looking for tutors who enjoy working one-on-one with students, are passionate about education, and can commit to tutoring at least 5 hours per week across 3–4 days. Sessions take place in person at students' homes, our offices, libraries, and other convenient locations.

We're currently hiring in the following areas:

• SAT/ACT Test Preparation

• ISEE/HSPT Test Preparation

• LSAT Test Preparation

• Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics

• Academic Coaching and Executive Functioning

• Reading Intervention (Orton-Gillingham)

Test Prep Training and Qualifications

Our test prep tutors complete a paid training program to learn DTP's curriculum, instructional approaches, and tutoring strategies. SAT/ACT tutors must demonstrate exceptional standardized test performance to qualify for our training program.

We're looking for candidates with strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students.

Compensation

• Starting tutoring rate: $50/hour

• Travel compensation: $20/hour for time spent driving to and from sessions

• Typical earnings: $75–$95 per 90-minute tutoring session, depending on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized tutoring: Provide engaging one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions tailored to each student's academic needs, learning style, and goals.
• Plan and prepare sessions: Customize lessons, practice materials, and assessments based on student progress, upcoming exams, and academic deadlines.
• Monitor and communicate progress: Track student performance, score practice assessments, provide regular updates to families, and identify areas for continued improvement.
• Maintain professional communication and scheduling: Communicate promptly with students and families, manage a reliable tutoring schedule, and follow DTP's scheduling, billing, and cancellation policies.

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; strong academic record preferred
• Top 2% standardized test scores on the exams you plan to teach (for test prep positions)
• At least 2 years of teaching, tutoring, or other relevant instructional experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and families
• Reliable transportation to travel to in-person tutoring sessions throughout the Denver/Boulder area
• Ability to successfully complete a background check as a condition of employment
