Personal Banker I - Skillman-Abrams

GENERAL FUNCTION

The Personal Banker I position will provide an exceptional customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing long‑lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. The role is responsible for processing teller transactions and working as a member of the platform staff. The banker helps customers understand and address their financial needs, providing solutions that span the customer's lifecycle through a consultative sales and service process. Responsible and accountable for risk, the banker exchanges ideas and opinions openly, elevates concerns, and follows policies and procedures as defined. The banker ensures actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience and operates within the bank’s risk appetite to identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships in an assigned book of business through proactive outreach by in‑person, phone, or other appropriate channels. Use a consultative approach with current or prospective customers to uncover and identify their needs, tailoring recommendations, solutions, and advice. Maintain working knowledge of products, services, and processes offered. Work collaboratively with internal partners to ensure customers’ needs are met and all problems are resolved. Analyze customer credit data and other related financial information to ensure customers are in appropriate solutions that align with their needs. Provide customer support to reinforce the value of current and new technology. Process teller transactions and adhere to balancing guidelines. Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and related policies, modeling ethical behavior expected of every employee. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

High School Diploma/GED and 6 months of customer service experience, or a college degree, or equivalent military experience. Demonstrated ability to develop comfort level with both new household acquisitions and deepening customer relationships. Ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank in verbal and written communication. Exhibits business acumen. Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions. Requires SAFE Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal office environment. Extended viewing of computer screens.
