The Cincinnati VA Medical Center (CVAMC) is a two-division campus located in Cincinnati, OH and Fort Thomas, KY serving 15 counties in Southwest OH, Northern Kentucky, and Southeast Indiana with 6 Community Based Outpatient Clinics located in Bellevue, KY; Florence, KY; Lawrenceburg, IN; Hamilton, OH; Clermont County, OH, and Georgetown, OH. The CVAMC also supports two off main campus locations in the Cincinnati area via an Eye Center and Mental Health Outreach Community Division. The TCF career fields represent those technical fields where VA-specific knowledge and experience is desirable for success in the field. Individuals selected follow a formal training plan for two years during which they are trained, coached, and supervised by a preceptor. Preceptors are selected annually, through an extensive application process, for their technical expertise, their commitment to training and the suitability of their facility as a training location. Selectees will be required to sign Mobility, Training, and Continued Service Agreements. This is a developmental position leading to a GS-9, performing assignments intended to broaden skills and provide practical experience leading to progressively more complex assignments performed under progressively less supervision. The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Major Duties:

• Evaluates requirements for assigned inventory items. Uses various established and commonly applied supply principles and tools, concepts and methodologies to determine evaluate supply system performance. Examines fluctuations in usage rates, cost, availability for established suppliers, alternative sources of supply and other similar conditions.
• Prepares recommendations for procurement of equipment and material. Prepares data/information analysis for acquisition planning associated with expendable supplies/materials and capital equipment. Supports acquisition personnel in developing requirements, utilizing mandatory sources and standardization of sources.
• Analyzes stock level and usage history to determine funds required and execution of budget plans for assigned inventory. Uses a wide range of well-established and commonly applied supply principles, concepts and methodologies to evaluate status of funds available to execute annual supply program. Analyzes, coordinates and controls management of assigned items of material.
• Interrogates databases to obtain adequate and pertinent data on which to base decisions on item descriptions and end item applications. Adjusts account records to reflect routine interventions required by changes in usage rate, pricing, additional vendors and other similar activities.
• Implements federal and agency program for return and reutilization of equipment. Uses well established and commonly applied supply methods to ensure records maintenance for personal property. Supports disposal of surplus or excess property in accordance with specific agency directives and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:30am to 4:00pm
