Northern Star Scouting is seeking a Customer Service Representative to provide outstanding customer service to Scouts, volunteers, and community members. This position is a key point of contact for visitors and supports a wide variety of programs and events. This is a full-time, nonexempt position with a pay range of $17.00 - $24.00 per hour, with newly hired employees starting at hourly wage of $19.00. Generous benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid life insurance, short- and long-term disability and a retirement savings plan with employer match. We offer paid time off (equivalent to 16 days annually for new hires) and 12 annual holidays. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM or 8:30AM to 5:00PM. The position requires work in the office, with the option to work remotely one day a week after 90 days.

 

Responsibilities

• Welcome visitors, program participants, and volunteers, providing friendly and helpful service in person, by phone, and via email.

• Serve as a primary point of contact for Base Camp reservations and general inquiries; supplying information about Scouting programs and connecting customers with resources.

• Coordinate reservations from initial inquiry through to the day of the program, including scheduling, processing payments, and communications.

• Maintain accurate reservation, attendance, registration, and customer records across multiple systems.

• Partner with Accounting and other departments to resolve customer questions, reconcile records, and support reporting processes.

• Work as part of a highly collaborative and communicative Customer Service team to support camp programs and share responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills required; previous customer service experience is a plus.
• Must be a team player and problem solver who is dependable and adapts easily to change.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with databases, reservation systems, or point-of-sale software is preferred; willingness to learn custom databases is necessary.
