Position Overview

Vital City Med is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our General Surgery team in Frederick, Maryland. This full-time, onsite position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with a distinguished general surgeon, overseeing patients through various stages of surgical care. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the supervising physician to provide individualized patient assessments, including medical history reviews and physical examinations.
• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to meet the short-term and long-term health goals of patients.
• Conduct daily rounds, document patient progress, write orders, and facilitate hospital admissions and discharges, ensuring seamless transitions in care.
• Assist in the operating room, performing minor surgical procedures and acting as first assist during laparoscopic and robotic surgeries.
• Provide thorough education and pre/post-operative instructions to patients and their families.
• Manage consults within the Emergency Department (ED) and Critical Care Unit (CCU), offering expertise in surgical care.
• Maintain a high degree of clinical competence and adhere strictly to licensing regulations, institutional policies, and practice agreements.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will cater to a diverse range of patients, spanning all age groups, who require surgical interventions. Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies is required.
• Board certification as a Physician Assistant, established through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Current state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in Maryland.
• Possession of a valid DEA License.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification is required within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 2-3 years of advanced practice experience in surgery or hospital medicine.
• Experience in surgical assistance, particularly in laparoscopic and robotic techniques.
• Understanding of surgical workflows and the ability to enhance clinical efficiencies in surgical practices is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 140,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience. As a full-time employee, you will also enjoy comprehensive benefits, including:
