Job Title: Lead Daycare Teacher / Early Childhood Educator

Salary: $18.00 - $22.00hour (Based on experience & credentials)

We believe that a great daycare experience starts with dedicated educators, and we are looking for an exceptional Lead Teacher to guide our classroom.

Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate, creative, and experienced  Lead Daycare Teacher to oversee classroom operations, design engaging daily lesson plans, and foster a positive learning environment. In this role, you will lead a classroom, collaborate with an Assistant Teacher, and act as a primary point of contact for parents regarding their child’s development and daily milestones.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Development: Design and implement age-appropriate, play-based lesson plans that promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and highly engaging classroom environment that meets OCFS regulations.
• Child Assessment: Observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones, sharing routine progress reports with parents.
• Parent Communication: Maintain open, friendly, and professional communication with families via daily reports, check-ins, and conferences.
• Team Leadership: Guide and mentor the classroom Assistant Teacher to ensure cohesive classroom management and teamwork.
• Health & Safety: Ensure all children are supervised at all times and that safety, hygiene, and sanitization protocols are strictly followed.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred (CDA credential with relevant experience will be considered).
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working as a Lead Teacher in a licensed childcare center or preschool setting.
• Deep understanding of New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regulations.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Must pass all required New York State background checks, fingerprinting, and medical clearances.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
