Make a difference every day as a 1:1 LPN working with a dedicated 3rd-grade student who values compassion and support. This contract position is based in Paramus, NJ, and offers the rewarding opportunity to provide crucial care in both the classroom and a paraprofessional capacity.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in school nursing and direct experience with medication administration, particularly in implementing seizure protocols. Compassion, patience, and clear communication are essential in building strong rapport with the student, who uses an AAC device and communicates primarily through assistive means. The role will also require attentive monitoring and support during class activities, meal times, and structured toileting routines.

Key Qualifications:

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in New Jersey; LVN credentials also considered
• Experience in school settings, especially with individualized student care
• Proficiency in administering seizure rescue medications and understanding seizure action plans
• Comfortable assisting with toileting schedules and supporting students with physical and communication challenges
• Ability to collaborate closely with educational and healthcare professionals
• Flexibility to step in as a paraprofessional when not providing direct nursing care

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct 1:1 nursing support, monitoring health status and responding swiftly to seizures
• Administer prescribed medications at onset of seizure, following the students action plan
• Support feeding and toileting needs, maintaining the students dignity at all times
• Foster communication by assisting with the students AAC device
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment within the classroom
• Fill paraprofessional duties when interim coverage is needed
