Brief Description
- This position is responsible for supporting Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and other departments through technical research, documentation retrieval, and engineering record management. Initially based at the Hastings facility through December 2026, the role will focus on researching engineering records, drawings, bills of material, manuals, and historical technical documentation to support quoting, engineering, and customer requirements.
- Following the transition to the Caledonia office, the position will expand to include administration, maintenance, and user support of the company's digital document management systems, including Skysite and legacy document repositories. The individual will play a key role in supporting the organization's transition to a more digital environment by improving document accessibility, maintaining technical records, and assisting users with document storage and retrieval best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and retrieve technical documentation, engineering drawings, bills of material, manuals, blueprints, and historical records to support Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and other departments.
- Assist the Sales team with technical support required for quotation development.
- Provide technical research support to Engineering for product identification, modifications, replacements, and obsolete component investigations.
- Create marked-up drawings highlighting critical dimensional or design changes for quoting and engineering purposes.
- Work collaboratively with Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Field Service personnel to resolve technical questions and locate supporting documentation.
- Organize and maintain technical record sets to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Maintain and support the Skysite document management system and related technical document repositories.
- Upload, organize, and maintain technical documentation, engineering drawings, manuals, and record sets within Skysite.
- Update scanned technical record sets with bookmarks, keywords, metadata, and indexing information to improve searchability and usability.
- Ensure technical documentation is properly categorized, stored, and maintained according to established standards.
- Assist departments with document retrieval, document storage procedures, and system best practices.
- Support user adoption of Skysite by providing guidance and assistance to system users.
- Identify opportunities to improve digital document management processes and enhance accessibility of engineering records.
- Support the continued migration from legacy document repositories, including OCE, into modern digital document management systems by assisting the company through its digital transition phase, participating in document management improvement initiatives, and helping develop standards and processes related to document control and technical record management.

Education and Professional Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- 2–5 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, technical research, document management, or a related technical field.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, technical documentation, and bills of material.
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
- Experience with document management systems, technical record repositories, or engineering data management systems preferred.
