Your Role

As part of our Electrical Engineering team, you'll work side by side with in-house architects and mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection engineers on complex, highly coordinated projects. You'll get hands-on experience designing building systems that meet new government performance standards, modernize aging facilities, and deliver long-term value to end users and building owners.

Responsibilities

• Develop design solutions for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage communications systems with integrated architecture and engineering project design teams
\n
• Prepare basic deliverables such as equipment selection, calculations, construction documents (Revit), specifications, design analysis, and completion of projects
\n
• Contribute to Alphatec’s sustainable design initiatives for USGBC and GBI submissions in pursuit of LEED or Green Globe certifications
\n
• Must be able to assist Electrical team on multiple projects, exhibit technical knowledge, support to team members, and verify that all work is completed as planned and scheduled
\n
• Conduct building systems survey and prepare assessments
\n
• Junior-Level position within the Electrical Engineering department, offering additional opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

\n
• Must be local to DC Area - this is not a remote position
\n
• Educational Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and/or MSEE
\n
• EIT license preferred, pursuit to licensure required
\n
• Minimum of 3 years experience in the design of electrical systems
\n
• Proficiency in AUTODESK Building Design Suite (AutoCAD and Revit)
\n
• CEM, RCDD, LEED GA or LEED AP BD+C, Well AP preferred
\n
• Broad knowledge of standard codes and compliance methods, including DoD UFC criteria
\n
• Strong communication and organizational skills required to undertake multiple projects
\n
• US citizenship and valid driver's license required for government clearance
\n
• Experience in all project phases (design, CD’s & follow-on)
