Production Assembler

$20.5 - $23.58 per hour

General Production WorkerThe General Production Worker assembles and produces custom doors using a variety of tools and equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves operating clamps, presses, sanders, nail guns, hand and power tools, and a computer while following production instructions and quality standards. The position requires accurate measurement skills, consistent heavy lifting, and adherence to safety and work procedures on either a day or night shift schedule.ResponsibilitiesPerform product assembly and production tasks for custom doors according to work orders and specifications.Operate clamps, presses, sanders, nail guns, and other production machinery safely and efficiently.Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, fasten, and finish wood and related materials.Read and interpret tape measurements to ensure accurate cutting, fitting, and assembly of components.Utilize a computer to access production information, record data, and follow digital work instructions as required.Inspect materials and finished products for quality, accuracy, and defects, and report any issues promptly.Handle and move materials, components, and finished products throughout the work area as needed.Lift and carry up to 50 pounds consistently during the shift while maintaining safe lifting practices.Follow established production processes, safety guidelines, and housekeeping standards to keep the work area clean and organized.Work scheduled day or night shifts and be willing to work every other weekend shift as required to meet production demands.Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to maintain workflow and meet production goals.Assist with basic machine operation and setup tasks under guidance, including monitoring equipment performance.Essential SkillsAbility to read and use a tape measure with accuracy, including basic understanding of measurements and fractions.Comfort and experience using hand tools and power tools in a production, construction, or manufacturing environment.Capability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the shift.Willingness to work day or night shifts with every other weekend shift as scheduled.Basic computer skills to navigate production-related software or systems.Attention to detail for inspecting parts and finished products for quality and accuracy.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established processes and safety procedures.General labor or production experience in a manufacturing, assembly, construction, or carpentry setting.Steel-toe footwear, required for safety in the production environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in assembly, construction, carpentry, or any manufacturing setting is highly beneficial and helps candidates succeed in this role.Familiarity with tape measures and calipers for precise measurement of components.Background working with wood products or woodworking equipment.Experience with forklift operation or material handling equipment.Exposure to machine operation or machine operating in a production environment.Knowledge of basic packaging processes for finished products.Ability to read and interpret blueprints or production drawings.Experience performing quality inspection tasks on manufactured products.Why Work Here?Join a stable manufacturing environment where hands-on work, craftsmanship, and attention to detail are valued. You will work on either a day shift (Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with every other Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) or a night shift (Sunday to Thursday, 7:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with every other Friday from 7:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.). The environment involves regular use of clamps, presses, sanders, nail guns, hand tools, power tools, and computers, as well as handling wood materials and components. Work is active and physically demanding, requiring frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and standing for most of the shift. Safety standards are a priority, and steel-toe footwear is required as part of the dress code. The facility operates with production lines, machinery, and material handling areas, and employees are expected to maintain a clean, organized, and safety-conscious workspace.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Northwood, IA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.50 - $23.58/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
