Environmental Scientist

Position Overview Davey Resource Group, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Scientist with 3–5 years of experience to join its growing team in Flemington, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with marketing, administration, and other staff scientists. PWS/PWIT certification is preferred. Job Duties Assist with field studies, including wetland and water resource delineations, threatened and endangered species studies, vegetation community studies, monitoring wetland mitigation and restoration projects, and wildlife studies. Assist in preparing technical documents, including wetland delineation reports, environmental assessments and impact statements, threatened and endangered species evaluations, regulatory permit applications, tree survey reports, and other land use studies. Participate in team and project meetings and weekly tailgate safety meetings. Work safely and independently outdoors in varied conditions and weather. Safely drive, operate, and maintain a vehicle on a variety of terrain and surfaces. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, marine science, natural resources, or a related field. 3–5 years of relevant experience in wetland delineation, natural resources permitting, ecosystem restoration, and/or mitigation. Working knowledge of environmental regulations, including the Clean Water Act Sections 401/404, New Jersey Freshwater Wetland Protection Act Rules, New Jersey Coastal Zone Management Rules, New Jersey Flood Hazard Area Control Act Rules, Pennsylvania Chapter 105 permitting, and NEPA. Demonstrated technical writing proficiency. Ability to perform outdoor fieldwork and site visits in varied conditions; some travel is required. Valid U.S. driver’s license. Experience in one or more of the following is desired: plant identification (including trees and shrubs), soils, GIS/GPS, ArcPro, FieldMaps, or AutoCAD.
