Registered Respiratory Therapist – NICU

Schedule: Variable shifts, weekends required (every other).

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience.
• Required: Level III NICU experience.
• Required: Neuro/Trauma ICU experience (preferred).
• Ventilator competency: Nitric Oxide, high-frequency jet, and oscillator ventilation.
• Required certifications: WA RN license (or Compact RN license); RRT; NRP, BLS, ACLS, PALS, CRT, ENPC (certifications to be confirmed).
• Key clinical skills:
• Advanced neonatal ventilator management (NO, HFJV, HFOV).
• Neonatal intubation/ET tube management and extubation support.
• ABG interpretation, arterial/umbilical blood gas drawing.
• HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, bubble CPAP, oxygen therapy.
• Tracheostomy care, suctioning, weaning from mechanical ventilation.
• Troubleshooting high-pressure alarms.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory therapy care for neonates in the NICU.
• Manage ventilation for patients with complex respiratory needs.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for comprehensive patient care.
• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and best practices in respiratory therapy.

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 40 hours.
• Pre-approved time off: One time (per contract).
• Required compliance documents due Monday prior to start.
• Must list RTO at time of submittal.
• Max one job per submittal; locals accepted within 50-mile radius.
