Make an impact at NTT Global Data Centers. Key Responsibilities Develop creative approaches to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and implement new strategies. Handle mechanical responsibilities involving chilled water systems and components, HVAC systems such as rooftop units, CRAC/CRAH units, and humidification systems. Handle electrical responsibilities including electrical/critical power distribution from the Utility/Generator main switchgear through UPS systems to the customer load. Handle fire life‑safety responsibilities involving wet sprinkler systems, pre‑action sprinkler systems, and their detection devices. Test performance of electromechanical assemblies and electronic voltmeters. Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of processes. Inspect parts for surface defects. Install electrical or electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies using hand tools. Align, fit, or assemble component parts using hand or power tools. Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facility systems across mechanical, electrical, fire life‑safety, and building monitoring and control areas. Analyze systems to ensure best practices for both internal and external customers. Provide feedback to relevant teams on the effectiveness of existing standards and processes. Work with contractors and consultants to review quality assurance for all system expansions, corrections, and upgrades. Track and complete an aggressive preventive and predictive maintenance program. Ensure the data centre operates at maximum operational efficiency by analyzing existing operating conditions, recommending new technologies, and improving overall efficiency and cost reduction. Manage systems to avoid unplanned customer‑impacting events. Determine maintenance requirements for mechanical, electrical, and fire life‑safety systems in collaboration with relevant teams. Perform other duties as assigned. Ensure regular, predictable attendance, which is essential to satisfactory performance. Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes Understanding of the mechanical, electrical, and fire‑life safety systems used in a data centre environment, including: Electrical distribution and layout: transformers, PLCs, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, STS, ATS, PDU’s. Chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH units, pre‑action sprinkler systems. Compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, and building codes related to fire life safety. Knowledge of industrial safety best practices (lock‑out/tag‑out, arc‑flash protection, OSHA, and state regulations). Familiarity with data trending, tracking, and analysis and the ability to use PC‑based integrated critical monitoring systems. Ability to process hand and eye requests such as tape rotation, rack and stack equipment, inventory hardware, power‑cycle devices, and patch cable install/removal. Demonstrated hands‑on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems, including: Chilled water systems, large centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, water treatment systems, VFDs and pumps. HVAC equipment, CRAC/CRAH units, humidification systems, water heaters, water/air filters. BMS and PLC controls, emergency standby diesel generator systems, fuel/oil systems. 48/27/20 and 20/80/12 electric generation and distribution. Static UPS systems, double‑interlock pre‑action systems. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). Effective teamwork and ability to coordinate with contractors performing maintenance or upgrade work. Quick learner who can address issues that arise during normal or after‑hours work. Strong process orientation. Logical problem‑solving skills. Ability to multitask multiple projects. Proficiency with hand and machine tools (hammer, drill, saw, etc.). Proficiency with electrical tools such as multimeters or infrared cameras. Forklift operation; Comfortable working in a high‑stress, fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities. Availability to work nights, holidays, and some weekends. Academic Qualifications & Certifications Relevant high‑school diploma or equivalent. Relevant advanced qualification or equivalent work‑related experience. Relevant certifications: CPR/First Aid, NFPA70E Certified (can be gained during employment). OSHA‑approved forklift certification or ability to obtain one after hire. Required Experience Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a data centre facilities environment. Experience in a mechanical/electrical position within critical facilities (preferably a data centre, hospital, semi‑conductor, or power plant). Hands‑on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems, including: Chilled water systems, large centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, water treatment systems, VFDs and pumps. HVAC equipment, CRAC/CRAH units, humidification systems, water heaters, water/air filters. BMS and PLC controls, emergency standby diesel generator systems, fuel/oil systems. 48/27/20 and 20/80/12 electric generation and distribution. Static UPS systems, double‑interlock pre‑action systems. Compensation Hourly base salary: $27.80 - $41.60, with eligibility for overtime pay in accordance with local state and federal wage and hour requirements. All regular full‑time employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on performance.
