Registered Nurse - PreOp

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care for surgery and GI patients at a Level II Trauma center. This role involves weekend coverage, ensuring patient safety and optimal recovery through comprehensive perioperative support.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and administer patient assessments in pre-op and post-op settings.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to emergent situations as needed.
• Document patient care and outcomes accurately in the EPIC electronic medical records system.
• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding surgical procedures and recovery.

Qualifications:

• Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Valid BLS certification.
• Demonstrated experience with EPIC EMR system.
• Minimum of one year of recent perioperative nursing experience.
• Preferred certifications include CPAN and/or CAPA.
• Successful completion of prior travel assignments is desirable.
