Job Summary

A well-established, full-service law firm is seeking an experienced Construction Litigation Paralegal for a direct hire opportunity in Tampa, FL. The Construction Litigation Paralegal will work closely with senior legal leadership, including the Practice Group Leader and Office Managing Partner, on complex litigation from case inception through trial. Key Responsibilities

- Support attorneys through all phases of complex Florida construction litigation, from matter intake through trial.
- Prepare, file, proofread, and cite-check pleadings, motions, affidavits, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Manage discovery, including document collection, review, organization, production, privilege logs, exhibit lists, and database coordination.
- Assist with trial preparation, courtroom readiness, exhibit organization, and attendance at trials as needed.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper case files, transcripts, correspondence, work product, and litigation materials.
- Communicate with court administrators, regulatory agencies, outside counsel, vendors, and internal teams regarding case needs and deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary: $90,000+ per year, depending on experience.
- Bonus eligibility provided.
- Employment type: Direct hire.
- Location: Tampa, FL 33607.
- Workplace: Fully in-office.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, generally 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Overtime flexibility may be required to meet litigation deadlines, trial demands, and client needs.
- Annual billable-hour requirement: 1,500 hours, approximately 125 hours per month.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support complex construction litigation matters throughout discovery, motion practice, case preparation, and trial.
- Manage large-scale electronic document productions and litigation databases.
- Prepare and file pleadings in compliance with Florida court rules and filing requirements.
- Track deadlines, priorities, professional time, and client billing accurately.

- Minimum 5 years of Florida law firm experience required.
- Significant Florida construction litigation experience required.
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys on complex litigation matters.
- Strong knowledge of Florida court procedures, processes, and filing requirements.
- Experience with complex discovery and document-intensive litigation.
- Relativity experience required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with law firm case management and billing systems required.
- Strong legal writing, proofreading, cite-checking, and document drafting skills.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, follow-through, and time management.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment.
- Strong communication skills with attorneys, clients, vendors, courts, and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and exercise sound judgment.
- Comfortable using legal technology and learning new platforms.
- Demonstrated interest in building a long-term career with the firm.
- Professional references will be required and checked prior to interview.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in a mid-sized to large law firm strongly preferred.
- Florida Registered Paralegal designation preferred.
- Knowledge of FileSite, CMS, SmartTime, and Aderant is a plus.
- Prior experience coordinating with outside litigation support or document vendors preferred.
- Trial preparation and courtroom support experience in complex civil litigation preferred.
