Speech Language Pathologist PRN - Acute Care

Overview MedStar Health is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join the team at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center. The role involves providing comprehensive speech-language pathology services, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning and implementation, reassessment, discharge planning, and thorough documentation across various settings. The provider participates in program planning, protocol development, and aids the team in meeting established goals. Primary Duties Conduct evaluation services, reviewing pertinent historical information, performing assessments, and documenting findings. Explain evaluation results and treatment plans to patients and families, incorporating them into goal setting. Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation findings, patient presentation, and the evolving healthcare environment. Consult with other healthcare professionals as indicated and document any changes requiring modification of the care plan or additional consultations. Complete discharge planning and follow‑up care. Accurately and timely document and charge for patient care activities, detailing the patient’s course of care, initial evaluation/plan of care, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation. Manage time effectively to meet productivity expectations, maintain an accurate schedule, and deliver frictionless patient access through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and empathetic actions. Pursue and direct continuing education for professional growth. Serve as a clinical instructor by assigning students, and assist with orientation and mentoring of new staff, students, and volunteers. Qualifications Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY). Licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist in Maryland, District of Columbia, and/or Virginia, as required for the specific location.
