Job Summary Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards. Shift The person in this position will work three 12‑hour shifts per week for a total of 36 hours from 6:30 p m to 7:00 a m. Weekend requirement: 3–4 weekend shifts in a 6‑week scheduling period. Call requirement: 3–4 on‑call shifts in a 6‑week scheduling period (call relatively rare). Requirements 1 year of relevant RN experience (ICU or ED preferred). Active RN license. Graduate of an approved discipline program. Responsibilities Collaborate in establishing the plan of care, coordinate and implement care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum. Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to the patient’s care and management to determine nursing diagnosis. Utilize the nursing process to evaluate patient’s progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes. Employ strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment. Work a hybrid of Radiology Resource nursing and Nuclear Medicine, floating between MRI, ROCU (Recovery and Observation Care Unit for IR patients), PET, CT, and IV Cubby, and responding first to stat or rapid calls, accessing ports, and monitoring pacemakers. Nuclear medicine duties: cardiac stress perfusion studies, stress testing, viability studies, brain mapping, sarcoid studies, monitoring mapping patients after procedures, coronary CTAs, Iodine therapy prep, and teaching students patient care fundamentals, vital signs, and EKG rhythm interpretation. Additional duties may be assigned. Technical Capabilities Care Planning – anticipate resource needs, set priorities, schedule activities, and adapt to changes with minimal disruption. Nursing Patient Education – provide patient education in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation – assess patients, conduct primary care interviews, recognize problems, and gather clinical data for referral and treatment.
