Case Mix: GI Bleed, Endoscopy, ERCP, EUS, General GI

FACILITY INFORMATION

Trauma Level: Level 1
EMR System: Epic
Specialty Backup Available: Intensivists, Hospitalists, Trauma Surgery
Support Staff Available: None

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
Temporary Privileges Available: Yes
Credentialing Timeline: 60-90 days standard; emergency privileges 1-2 weeks

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

Scoping (Endoscopy)
ERCP
EUS
GI Bleed management
Evaluation of GI problems

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Board: Board Certified Gastroenterology
Licenses: Active CO License or Universal License (IMLC)
DEA: Active DEA Certification
Experience: Gastroenterology Fellowship required
Other Qualifications: ERCP & EUS proficiency, availability for specified dates, local/drive-in preferred, clean malpractice record

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform endoscopic procedures including scoping, ERCP, EUS, and endoscopy
Manage gastrointestinal bleeding
Evaluate and consult on GI problems for inpatients
Provide call coverage for GI emergencies
Document patient encounters in Epic EMR
