W2 Contract – 12 months with possible extensions!

Pay Rate: $21.00 - $23.10/hour - Determined based on experience (Paid Weekly)

Work Model: Onsite role - Swing Shift – Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM

Summary of the Role:

BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Technician I to join our client’s site in Hillsboro, OR. This role will support the filling, inspection, and packaging of sterile pharmaceutical products within a highly automated production and packaging facility.

The Manufacturing Technician I will operate, clean, set up, troubleshoot, and maintain manufacturing equipment while following current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), production recipes, and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

This hands-on position involves working with automated equipment, completing detailed production documentation, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and collaborating with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate equipment used to fill, inspect, and package sterile pharmaceutical products.
• Clean, set up, change over, and operate equipment used for various-sized vials, pre-filled syringes, and devices.
• Perform manual and semi-automated inspection of filled product vials with a focus on quality and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures and assist in identifying appropriate resolutions.
• Perform routine and user-performed equipment maintenance.
• Assist Engineers, Maintenance Mechanics, and outside service providers with equipment repairs, maintenance, calibration, overhauls, and installations.
• Execute production recipes, equipment check-in activities, and material movements using SAP and MES systems.
• Maintain accurate production documentation before, during, and after manufacturing activities.
• Complete Batch Production Records (BPRs), logbooks, and forms according to Good Documentation Practices.
• Maintain appropriate accountability and traceability of components and finished products.
• Identify, report, and document process deviations and atypical events according to established SOPs.
• Utilize manufacturing automation systems, including SAP, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), PI ProcessBook, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Conduct environmental monitoring activities within manufacturing areas as required.
• Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping activities to maintain the required environmental grade of manufacturing areas.
• Provide shift handoffs and communicate equipment status, supply needs, required repairs, process concerns, and safety issues.
• Recommend opportunities to improve equipment reliability, product yield, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Train other technicians as assigned and assist with improving SOPs and training materials.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams on process improvements.
• Support continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, including 5S and Kaizen.
• Use manufacturing and equipment performance data to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and reduced costs.
• Follow all plant safety requirements and proactively identify and report unsafe conditions.

Main Qualifications: 

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. With at least 2 years of manufacturing experience in a related industry, such as pharmaceutical, aerospace, automotive, food and beverage, or semiconductor manufacturing; OR
• Associate degree in Bioscience Technology, Microelectronics Technology, or a similar technical discipline.
• Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.
• Ability to follow detailed SOPs, production recipes, and manufacturing instructions.
• Strong commitment to cGMP and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Computer literacy and ability to interface with computer-controlled manufacturing systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and web-based applications.
• Basic typing and data-entry skills.
• Ability to work the assigned swing shift and required overtime.
• Ability to successfully complete and maintain all job-related qualifications and certifications required for a cGMP manufacturing environment.
• Ability to successfully complete required vision acuity and color discrimination testing.
• Ability to meet applicable gowning requirements for controlled and classified manufacturing areas.
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
• Ability to work within controlled and classified manufacturing environments.
• Ability to meet required gowning and medical qualification requirements.
• Ability to perform detailed visual inspection activities and maintain required annual qualifications.
• Ability to work scheduled overtime as production needs require.
• Ability to work safely around automated manufacturing and packaging equipment.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• 2–5 years of recent experience operating equipment used for the inspection and packaging of products or containers.
• Pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing experience.
• Experience in sterile or controlled manufacturing environments.
• Experience with automated pharmaceutical inspection or packaging equipment.
• Experience with SAP and MES.
• Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and PI ProcessBook.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical production equipment.
• Experience performing environmental monitoring.
• Experience with Batch Production Records and regulated manufacturing documentation.
• Experience supporting equipment maintenance, calibration, or repair activities.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, or Kaizen.
• Experience training other manufacturing technicians.
