Job Summary:

• The Registered Nurse (RN) promotes health, prevents illness, and alleviates suffering through diagnosis, treatment, and advocacy for individuals and families.
• Ensures compliance with New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights.
• Fosters a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely, adhering to United Health Services policies.
• Ensure effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, and supplies.
• Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
• Participate in Nursing Shared Governance, unit councils, and improvement initiatives.
• Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education requirements.
• Incorporate nursing research and evidence-based practices into care delivery.
• Support learning for new employees and students.
• Adhere to United Health Services values and perform other assigned duties.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current NYS RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• 6 months to 3 years of nursing experience.
• Strong skills in collaboration, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
• Relevant skills certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by the assigned unit.
• Previous clinical nursing experience in acute care or ambulatory settings.
