The Ellis School, the only pre-kindergarten–grade 12 independent day school for girls in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a part-time late afternoon Receptionist. The Receptionist provides a welcoming, helpful presence for afternoon visitors to The Ellis School. Candidates for this role will have well-developed interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to multitask. This person will demonstrate a high level of personal and professional conduct with faculty, staff, students, and the overall school community. This is an hourly, on-site position, working from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m on weekdays. 

Receptionist Responsibilities

• Help the School adhere to safety protocols by vetting School visitors, leading them through the visitor registration process, and directing visitors around campus accordingly.

• Answer or refer inquiries, and provide approved information to parents, students, school personnel, and the public over the telephone and in person.

• Perform duties that include receiving visitors, screening telephone calls and sorting mail, and fielding communications to the appropriate office or individual.

• High school equivalency.

• Ability to be trained on Google Calendar and the school’s door entry and visitor registration software.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills required.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as ability to balance competing priorities.
