Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients across the age spectrum within the Med Surg unit; supervise and coordinate care planning with other disciplines.
- Assess patient needs and perform ongoing data collection across physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive domains; address nutrition, pain, education, learning needs, and advocacy.
- Develop a goal-directed, prioritized plan of care based on patient diagnosis and expected outcomes; include patient and family in planning and updates.
- Document thoroughly and clearly in the medical record; maintain current, accurate documentation and navigate the electronic medical record system.
- Delegate and coordinate duties of the health care team; participate in orientation and training of new staff and students; ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and unit policies.
- Educate patients, families and caregivers about the plan of care; support patient advocacy and continuity of care.

Requirements
- Current, active RN license
- Vaccinations required as a condition of employment per policy (medical or religious exemptions may apply)
- Ability to work nights (3x12) and participate in a travel assignment
- E-Verify participation and compliance with Right to Work requirements
- Ability to work effectively in a hospital Med Surg environment and to adapt to a travel assignment
