Responsibilities * Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in diverse settings such as clinics, hospitals, or urgent care centers. * Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature. * Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. * Collect specimens for laboratory testing, perform phlebotomy procedures, and manage specimen labeling and transport. * Maintain comprehensive medical documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ensure accuracy in medical records and coding (including ICD coding). * Support medical administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, patient intake, insurance verification, and managing electronic health records (EHR/EMR). * Assist with medication administration under physician supervision and monitor patient responses during treatment. * Ensure compliance with safety protocols including Basic Life Support (BLS) standards and infection control procedures. * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate inpatient or outpatient care in settings like hospital medicine or emergency departments. * Manage medical supplies inventory and assist in clinic management tasks to optimize workflow efficiency. Skills * Proven experience in medical office preferred. * Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology. * Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for documentation, order entry, and managing electronic health records efficiently. * Skilled in phlebotomy techniques and specimen collection for laboratory testing. * Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse patient populations. * Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and assist with intake procedures seamlessly. * Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus. * Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical documentation and records management.
